I dreamt [last night] my teeth were crumbling.

2016

A dream involving the loss of teeth is interpreted as a feeling of powerlessness, internal conflict, and a fear of consequences or change occurring in the dreamer's waking life. I dreamt [last night] my teeth were crumbling. is a collection of paintings and sculptural installations exploring the dynamics of heartbreak and the physical and psychological distance experienced in romantic relationships. The work embodies tension in conflicting identities negotiated through melodrama. Relying on tropes found in the pop-culture narrative canon, the work omits specificity in favor of self-aware choices in form and material. I dreamt [last night] my teeth were crumbling. was the inaugural exhibition at Flux Gallery in Winnipeg, MB in February 2016.
